WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), visited El Paso, TX to see and hear first-hand what must be done to address the humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border. Rep. Kustoff visited El Paso Del Norte border crossing, met with Customs and Border Patrol, saw the construction of the border wall, met and was briefed by the Joint Task Force-North, and went to the El Paso Intelligence Center.

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), introduced legislation to name the Post Office in Henning, TN after two USPS workers, Judy Spray and Paula Croom Robinson, who were killed in the line of service in 2010. H.R. 3680 will designate the Post Office at 415 North Main Street in Henning, TN to be named as the "Paula Robinson and Judy Spray Memorial Post Office Building." This measure was supported by every member in the Tennessee delegation.

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), spoke on the U.S. House floor to raise awareness on the importance of H.R. 336 and urge Speaker Pelosi to bring it to the floor for a full vote. H.R. 336, Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act of 2019, would take real policy action against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The Senate companion to H.R. 336 is S.1, which passed the Senate on a bipartisan basis in January by a vote of 77-23.

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) joined Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) to introduce H.R. 3869, the Internet Exchange (IX) Act. This bill aims to strengthen Internet access in rural areas by promoting more Internet Exchanges across the country. Senator Blackburn introduced companion legislation, S. 1166 , in the Senate in April.

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), voted against H.R. 582, Raise the Wage Act. This bill would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 dollars per hour.

According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, a $15 increase in the minimum wage would eliminate 1.3 million jobs across our country, and it has the potential to eliminate up to 3.7 million jobs. It is predicted to cost Tennessee over 66,000 jobs.

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, the U.S. House passed H.R.748, the Middle-Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019. Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) is a co-sponsor of this bill, which repeals the ‘Cadillac Tax' provision within Obamacare. Without a repeal, starting in 2022, this controversial Cadillac Tax would be implemented and impose a 40 percent excise tax on all employer-provided health insurance plans that exceed an established annual cost.
