Supporting our Veterans:

• I have joined my colleagues in voting for a number of bills to help strengthen protections for our veterans. We passed legislation that allows the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to take appropriate action against VA employees who are underperforming, speeds up the appeals process, recruit and retain top physicians, and shorten wait times.
• Along with my support, Congress passed and the President signed into law legislation that will enable veterans to use the education benefit they have earned through the GI bill when it suits them best. This gives our veterans more flexibility with their education and sets them up for future success.
