September 11, 2019

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman David Kustoff issued the following message on the 18th Anniversary of September 11, 2001:

Full text of speech:

Today, as we remember the 18th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the thousands of lives that were taken in one of the deadliest attacks our nation has ever experienced.

While it was one of our country's darkest days, we saw the bravery and strength of the American people shine through.

It was a great testament to the strength of the American spirit.

On this day, and frankly every day, we honor the heroic first responders, the firefighters, the law enforcement officers, the civilians, everyone we lost in the attack.

It is also important we give thanks to the brave men and women who continue to serve in our armed forces and who protect us from future threats.

Eighteen years have passed, but we must never forget the horrors of September 11, and we must continue to protect ourselves so that it can never happen again.
