Trade

"I believe that free and open trade is central to what has made America great over the years. We should focus on trade policies that benefit the American economy and workforce through fair trade practices with foreign countries." – Congressman David Kustoff

NAFTA:

  • About 27 percent of our nation's economy is related to trade, and open markets equal greater opportunities for U.S. companies, especially small and medium size businesses, which comprise the vast majority of U.S. exporters.
  • America is home to the world's most affordable, abundant and safe food supply. Industrious producers in the 8th District of Tennessee and across America are the source of the food that feed millions. Free trade has benefitted the agriculture economy, and while agreements like NAFTA need to be updated for a 21st century economy, I believe strongly in protecting access to the global marketplace for Tennessee farmers.
