WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) voted against Speaker Pelosi's partisan $1.9 trillion COVID-19 package. This package includes a federally mandated $15/hour minimum wage, eliminates Hyde protections to prevent taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions, and includes numerous Democrat spending priorities that have no place in this relief plan (see below). Importantly, $1 trillion of previously designated COVID-19 funds have yet to be spent.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is given to Members of Congress who vote with small businesses 70 percent or more of the time on key small business issues.
WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) announced three grants from the Department of Justice totaling $200,776 to West Tennessee. Madison County will receive $150,000 to the Reducing Injury and Death of Missing Individuals with Dementia and Developmental Disabilities Program. The City of Jackson will receive $38,643 and the City of Dyersburg will receive $12,133 to prevent and control crime.
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) announced a $7 million Better Utilizing Investment to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to Lake County, Tennessee. This funding will help construct approximately 5.5 miles of rail to connect the Port of Cates Landing and the adjoining Select Tennessee certified industrial site, to the TennKen short-line railroad.
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) announced $400,000 in Economic Development Administration (EDA) CARES Act Recovery Assistance funding to support redevelopment and revitalization in Weakley County. The CARES Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump on March 27, 2020, provides EDA with $1.5 billion for economic development assistance programs to help communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) announced a $500,000 loan and $87,200 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to Obion County to construct a 100x100 airplane hangar with an adjacent staging area at the south end of the existing airport site. The new hangars will provide much needed private space for the crop dusters, so they are not disrupted by the other commercial traffic. The hangar will also generate airport revenue, as the space will be leased for storage for the crop dusters.
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Reps. David Kustoff (R-TN) and Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) introduced bipartisan legislation to modernize the real estate appraisal licensing system. The Portal for Appraisal Licensing Act establishes a nationwide licensing system for real estate appraisers that will improve the appraisal regulatory structure, reduce cost, and eliminate red tape.
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) announced a $500,000 loan and $150,000 grant for Obion County to construct an airplane hangar, a $18,300,000 loan for Crockett County to expand and renovate the Crockett County Middle and High School, and a $4,000,000 loan for the Town of Somerville to construct a fire station and renovate the existing law enforcement station. This funding is part of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) $153 million investment to build and improve critical community facilities across our nation.
