WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), spoke at the Healthy Tennessee Opioid Summit where health care professionals, law enforcement, and community leaders across the state come together to discuss ways to combat the opioid epidemic. While there, he unveiled his new bill, the Criminalizing Abused Substance Templates (CAST) Act of 2019. The CAST Act modifies the Controlled Substances Act to define the criminal penalty for making counterfeit drugs using a pill press. Current law prohibits this practice but does not define the penalty.

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture(USDA) is making $150 million in grants available through the Community Facilities Program to help rural communities continue their recovery from the devastating effects of natural disasters. FEMA has declared the counties of Dyer, Gibson, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, and Tipton as eligible to apply for this funding.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) will host his annual Military Service Academy Day on Saturday, September 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This event provides interested high school students and parents the opportunity to learn more about the nomination process for our nation's military service academies.

JACKSON, TN—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), announced $650,000 in funding from the New Access Point grant for the application of Christ Community Health Services Inc. in Jackson, TN. In April, Congressman Kustoff wrote a letter to the Office of Policy and Program Development Bureau of Primary Health Care to urge support for the Christ Community Health Services Inc. to receive funding to establish a New Access Point in Jackson, Tennessee.

Today, as we remember the 18th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the thousands of lives that were taken in one of the deadliest attacks our nation has ever experienced.
While it was one of our country's darkest days, we saw the bravery and strength of the American people shine through.
