On January 13, 2025, Representatives David Kustoff (R-TN) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) introduced a bipartisan bill aimed at shining a spotlight on Iran’s most powerful and wealthy individuals as well as regime-linked corporations. Officially titled the “Stop Corrupt Iranian Oligarchs and Entities Act”, the legislation calls for a comprehensive U.S. government report on the financial and political networks underpinning the Islamic Republic’s elite.
SELMER, Tenn. — State leaders visited one community that was affected by a destructive tornado.
Governor Bill Lee and U.S. Representative David Kustoff along with other state officials paid a visit to Selmer and McNairy County Thursday to see the damage from Wednesday storm.
“It’s hard to take in. Walking through an apartment complex overturned cars, people’s belongings scattered throughout the fields. The roofs off of buildings, we know there was lost of life there. It is total devastation,” said Governor Lee.
Sen. Brent Taylor, a Republican representing Eads and parts of Shelby County and Memphis, said he will file legislation, as early as Monday, aimed at holding Tennessee District Attorneys more accountable.
Sens. Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) introduced a bill on Tuesday targeting a group they said was involved in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel for sanctions.
