West Tennessean Confirmed to USDA General Counsel

November 27, 2018

Washington, D.C. – November 27, 2018 – Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement on the U.S. Senate's confirmation of West Tennessee native Stephen Vaden to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Vaden will serve as General Counsel.

Congressman Kustoff said: "Today the U.S. Senate voted to confirm President Trump's nominee and Union City native, Stephen Vaden, to serve as general counsel of the United States' Department of Agriculture. As a third generation farmer and an attorney, Stephen is uniquely suited for this position at USDA.

"I have known Stephen for years and have had the pleasure of working with him on a number of initiatives to support our farmers in West Tennessee. I am confident that under his counsel, West Tennessee Agriculture will be well represented in this Administration. I look forward to continuing to work with him and Secretary Perdue to help rural America thrive.

"I would like to extend my thanks to President Trump and our Senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, for all of their work to fill this position with such a qualified Tennessean."
