Rep. Kustoff Votes to Bolster Military, Support Troops

June 28, 2018

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 6157, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2019.

"Today, I am proud to continue my support for the military and our troops by voting in favor of the 2019 Department of Defense Appropriations Act," said Congressman Kustoff. "I ran on the promise of prioritizing support for our military, and H.R. 6157 does just that. By providing $674.6 billion in total funding for our armed services, this bill boosts base military funding, provides for upgrades and replenishment across all branches, ensures the United States stays on the cutting edge of military safety and technology, and includes the largest pay raise for our troops in 9 years. America's safety is a top priority, and I remain committed to ensuring our men and women in uniform are given the resources they need to protect us. These heroes deserve our unending gratitude for their selfless service, and I will continue to fight for our troops and their families here in Congress."
