Rep. Kustoff Statement on Voting to Fund the Wall and Avoid Another Government Shutdown
Washington, D.C.—February 14, 2019—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) released the following statement after voting to provide full-year Fiscal Year 2019 funding for various departments and agencies, and funds for the wall at our southern border.
“Tonight, I voted in support of the funding measure, which will provide over 22 billion dollars in border security and funding for President Trump’s wall to ensure the safety and protection of all Americans,” said Congressman Kustoff. “While this bill is not perfect, it addresses the current humanitarian crisis at our southern border by providing our Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with funds to combat drug traffickers and detain violent criminals. This measure is a step in the right direction, and I look forward to continue working with my colleagues and the President to protect our nation and build the wall.”
