Rep. Kustoff Praises President Trump Signing Executive Order

June 20, 2018

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement after President Trump's executive order keeping families together in light of the current immigrant separation policy.

"The separation of children from their parents along our southern border is bad policy and must be fixed," said Congressman Kustoff. "I applaud President Trump for signing an executive order to keep migrant families together. Our immigration process is broken, and we need a system that prioritizes border security while upholding the core American values of compassion and respect. Safe borders and respectful enforcement are not mutually exclusive, and I look forward to working with the President and my congressional colleagues to fix our broken system. This must start with absolute border security and incorporate common sense, values-driven enforcement."
