Rep. Kustoff Forgoes Salary During Shutdown

January 7, 2019

Germantown, TN – January 7, 2019 – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today sent a letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. Congress requesting that his salary be withheld during the government shutdown.

Congressman Kustoff said: "As other federal employees are without pay during the partial government shutdown, I believe Members of Congress should do the same. That is why I sent a letter requesting that my salary be withheld until we have come to a resolution regarding funding for the wall and national security. Be assured, my staff and I are continuing to work hard for the people of West Tennessee."

Congressman Kustoff's office will remain open throughout the government shutdown to answer constituent questions and work to find a solution to fund the government.
