Kustoff Statement on Secretary Perdue’s Swearing-In
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement congratulating former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue on being sworn in as the Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture.
“Sonny Perdue is a proven leader and public servant, and I am pleased he has been sworn in as the secretary of agriculture,” said Kustoff. “With more than 10,000 farm operators in the Eighth District, West Tennesseans know how important it is to a have strong advocate with extensive, first-hand experience in the agricultural industry. I look forward to working with Secretary Perdue on a new Farm Bill this Congress that will prioritize the success of our farmers and rural communities, as well as American food safety.”
Perdue was confirmed by the United States Senate yesterday, April 24, 2017, in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 87-11.
