Kustoff Statement in Honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement in honor of Yom Hashoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day.

"On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom Hashoah, we remember the 6 million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis.

"We must never forget the atrocities the Jews faced during the Holocaust and make sure it never happens again.

"I am humbled and honored to have been appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council this year by Speaker Paul Ryan. Joining the Council provides a special opportunity to lead the country in commemorating the Holocaust and advance the mission of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in our nation's capital.

"Through sharing their stories, we honor their memory, their bravery and their spirit. As Elie Wiesel said, ‘for the dead and the living we must bear witness.'"
