Kustoff-Sponsored Sanctions Pass House
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today applauded House passage of increased sanctions against Hezbollah, a Lebanese terrorist group, and Iran, the leading state sponsor of terrorism.
Yesterday, Kustoff spoke about the deeply flawed Iran Deal on the House floor, detailing how it has failed to prevent the Iranian Regime from ballistic missile testing and overall hostility that threatens American national security interests.
“As we work in Congress to implement further sanctions against the Iranian regime, we must work toward a strategy that protects our allies in the Middle East and effectively prevents Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” said Kustoff on the House floor. “We must remain vigilant against those that wish to inflict harm on America and stand united with our allies around the world.”
The Iran Ballistic Missiles and International Sanctions Enforcement Act targets Iran’s ballistic missile program, and The Sanctioning Hezbollah’s Illicit Use of Civilians as Defenseless Shields Act and Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act will further weaken and isolate Hezbollah and their supporters in Tehran.
