Kustoff Secures Funding to Eliminate Asian Carp

December 17, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) secured $25 million in critical funding, included in the 2020 Fiscal Year Appropriations Package, to aid in the fight against Asian carp.

"Asian carp is the single greatest threat to Tennessee's lake and river systems. If ignored Asian carp will destroy our recreation, sporting, and tourism industries. Throughout this year, I fought to ensure Congress recognized this threat, and today, I am pleased to see this funding pass through the House and give West Tennessee the much-needed support to help eradicate this invasive species. I would also like to thank Senator Alexander for his hard work to ensure this important Asian carp funding was included in the package," said Rep. David Kustoff.
