Kustoff’s Statement on Special Counsel Mueller’s Report
WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff, former United States Attorney, issued the following statement regarding the special counsel’s report.
“As a former U.S. Attorney who put corrupt politicians in prison, I believe no one is above the law. Today, it was clear justice prevailed. This lengthy investigation used 19 lawyers, 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysis, forensic accountants, issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, 500 search warrants and 500 witness interviews. Through this comprehensive investigation, one more thorough than any congressional committee could carry out, the evidence is clear that there was no collusion and no obstruction of justice. I look forward to using our federal resources to address the real challenges facing our country and focus on advancing President Trump's agenda,” said Rep. Kustoff.
Congressman David Kustoff was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee by President Bush in 2006. During this time, Kustoff set his sights on cleaning up government and public corruption by putting a number of corrupt politicians in jail. He oversaw the majority of the Tennessee Waltz trials that sent a Tennessee State Senator and 11 other defendants to federal prison.
