Kustoff’s Statement Following Transfer of Articles of Impeachment to U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) issued the following statement following the procedural vote to transfer the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

"Since day one, Speaker Pelosi claimed impeachment was an urgent and time-sensitive matter yet chose to delay sending the articles over to the Senate for almost a month. The fact of the matter is President Trump committed no high crime or misdemeanor, and this impeachment was conducted on a purely political basis," said Rep. Kustoff. "As impeachment moves to the Senate today, I am confident President Trump will get the fair trial he deserves, and Washington can finally get back to work for the American people."
