Kustoff Leads Bipartisan Letter Asking House Leadership to Extend Telehealth Waivers

June 17, 2020

WASHINGON, DC – Today, Rep. David Kustoff (TN-08) and Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09), led a bipartisan letter to House Leadership asking to extend the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) emergency telehealth waivers, including those for behavioral health, for a period of 22 months or longer. The letter also asks for this extension to be included in a potential Phase IV coronavirus relief package. Read the full letter, here.

"Telehealth has shown to greatly help patients during the COVID-19 pandemic receive uninterrupted treatment and services," said Rep. David Kustoff. "It is important that as we continue to recover, those using telehealth can continue their care without the worry of it expiring. These are unprecedented times and this extension of the emergency telehealth waivers would ensure some stability to our nation's most fragile consumers. I am proud to be leading this important letter with over sixty of my fellow colleagues to ensure the well-being of all Americans."
