Kustoff Issues Statement Following Vote on Speaker Pelosi’s Police Reform Bill

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08), issued the following statement following his vote against H.R. 7120 – George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

"Today, Congress had the opportunity to deliver real change for Americans. Unfortunately, Democrats refused to work across the aisle," said Rep. Kustoff. "Speaker Pelosi's bill included a number of elements that would only have made it more difficult for officers to safely and effectively do their jobs. Just this week, the Senate produced an effective bill that would have been a great step forward in police reform, yet Democrats refused to even debate it. Democrats should be able to put politics aside and work across the aisle to deliver reform for the American people."
