Kustoff Honors the 50th Anniversary of Jerusalem Reunification
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08) today released the following statement in honor of the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.
“Today, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation and reunification of Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel,” said Kustoff. “This historic day marks Israel’s decisive victory over the surrounding Arab armies during the Six-Day War. Facing forces much larger than their own, the Israelis employed a pre-emptive act of self-defense, fought for survival and prevailed. The reunification of Jerusalem ended years of division and opened the city’s holy sites to people of all faiths. I join my colleagues in recognizing this monumental anniversary and look forward to further strengthening the United States’ relationship with our great ally and friend, Israel.”
