Kustoff Applauds President Trump’s Actions to Protect American Taxpayers from Government Bailouts

April 21, 2017

UNION CITY, Tenn. – U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08), a member of the House Financial Services Committee, today made the following statement after President Donald J. Trump took executive action to protect American taxpayers and curb regulators' ability to arbitrarily designate institutions "too big to fail."

"Today's executive orders are an important step in ending taxpayer-funded government bailouts and rolling back devastating Dodd-Frank regulations that are hurting the American people," said Kustoff. "It is time to provide more transparency and correct the inconsistent process of deciding what constitutes a threat to economic stability. I am committed to working with my colleagues on the Financial Services Committee and the Trump Administration to replace Dodd-Frank and deliver fair regulatory relief that will revive the American economy."

Kustoff is a member of the House Financial Services Committee, serving on three subcommittees for the 115th Congress: Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, Oversight and Investigation and Terrorism and Illicit Finance. He previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee under President George W. Bush.
