Kustoff Announces the Opening of the Congressional Art Competition Exhibit
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), announced that the Congressional Art Competition exhibit will be open to the public from Tuesday, April 16 to Tuesday, April 23. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 23.
“West Tennessee is home to many talented high school artists. I hope everyone can stop by West Tennessee Regional Art Center to get a chance to see their incredible work firsthand,” said Rep. Kustoff. “The overall winner’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year, where lawmakers and thousands of visitors will walk past it each day.”
What: Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art
competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
