Kustoff Announces $11.2 Million in Grant Money to the Tennessee Department of Transportation

MEMPHIS, TN – Today, Rep. David Kustoff (TN-08), announced $11,200,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to the Tennessee Department of Transportation Project for Fayette, Haywood, Madison, Henderson, Carroll, Decatur, Benton, Hum­phreys, Hickman, and Dickson Counties. With this funding, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will install approximately 143 miles of fiber optic communications and deploy ITS devices on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. The ITS devices include CCTV Cameras, dynamic message signs, road weather sensors, and connected vehicle roadside units.

"I-40 is a critical corridor for interstate commerce and vital to West Tennessee's economy. I would like to thank Secretary Elaine Chao for this investment and for keeping the Volunteer State a top priority in the Administration," said Rep. Kustoff.
