Day One: Kustoff Surveys Border Crisis in El Paso, Texas
WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), visited El Paso, TX to see and hear first-hand what must be done to address the humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border. Rep. Kustoff visited El Paso Del Norte border crossing, met with Customs and Border Patrol, saw the construction of the border wall, met and was briefed by the Joint Task Force-North, and went to the El Paso Intelligence Center.
“I am more convinced than ever that our system is completely overwhelmed. The number of people fleeing their homes to come to the United States is staggering,” said Rep. Kustoff. “After spending a day with our hardworking border personnel, it is clear they do not have the means to properly secure our nation’s border, and this issue must be addressed in Congress. These men and women who work every day to protect and secure the border need more resources and protection. I have been doing my part, and it is time Congress comes together, puts politics aside, and works with President Trump to address the crisis at hand.
