WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chairman of the House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group Congressman David Kustoff (R-TN) welcomed Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana to the U.S. Capitol for the inaugural meeting of the House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group. Afterwards, the group met with family members of Israeli hostages held in Gaza.

The House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group is a historic alliance between members of Congress and members of the Knesset tasked with strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship. Present at the meeting were Reps. Mike Lawler (R-NY), Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), Max Miller (R-OH), Brad Sherman (D-CA), Nikema Williams (D-GA), and Kathy Manning (D-NC).

"It was an honor to welcome Speaker Ohana to the U.S. Capitol for the first meeting of the historic House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group," said Congressman Kustoff. "I was pleased to bring together members of Congress and members of the Knesset to reaffirm our commitment to the U.S.-Israel relationship. Israel needs to know that the United States is committed to Israel’s security, we are committed to protecting her longevity, and we are committed to bringing all the innocent hostages home safely. During this time of deep sorrow and sadness, it is of the utmost importance that we do all we can to support our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel."
