House Passes Kustoff Co-Sponsored Bill to Repeal Obamacare’s Cadillac Tax

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, the U.S. House passed H.R.748, the Middle-Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019. Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) is a co-sponsor of this bill, which repeals the ‘Cadillac Tax' provision within Obamacare. Without a repeal, starting in 2022, this controversial Cadillac Tax would be implemented and impose a 40 percent excise tax on all employer-provided health insurance plans that exceed an established annual cost.
"Obamacare has failed the American people, and this bill is one step towards finally achieving real health care reform. This measure not only provides relief from the harmful 40 percent tax on health benefits Obamacare aimed to impose, but it makes health care more affordable for everyone. It is a win for the American people, and I urge the Senate to swiftly pass this bill," said Rep. Kustoff.
H.R. 748 is endorsed by workers, organizations treating and curing diseases, such as the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network; and prominent businesses, trade associations, and employer organizations like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business, American Airlines, and National Association of Counties.
